This weeks Bible Reading is from the book of Joshua and Luke.
Joshua 22 Joshua 23 Joshua 24 Luke 17 Luke 18 Luke 19 Luke 20 The Book of Joshua marks the fulfillment of the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, for God fulfills his promises to Joshua, the successor to Moses, by leading them to the Promised Land. With God's help, the tribes of Israel united as a single people conquer the land of Canaan, and God assigned each tribe their separate territories. The Book of Joshua was a Former Prophet in Hebrew Scripture, and the first of the Historical Books in the Greek Septuagint Old Testament, along with Judges, Ruth, Samuel, and Kings, as well as the Books of the Restoration. These continue as such in the Latin Vulgate and our Christian Old Testament of the Bible. The Gospel According to Luke (Greek: Τὸ κατὰ Λουκᾶν εὐαγγέλιον, to kata Loukan euangelion), commonly shortened to the Gospel of Luke or simply Luke, is the third and longest of the four canonical Gospels. This synoptic gospel is an account of the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. It details his story from the events of his birth to his Ascension. The author is traditionally identified as Luke the Evangelist. Certain popular stories, such as the Prodigal Son and the Good Samaritan, are found only in this gospel. This account also has a special emphasis on prayer, the activity of the Holy Spirit, women, and joyfulness. Luke presented Jesus as the Son of God, but turned his attention especially to the humanity of Jesus, featuring His compassion for the weak, the suffering and the outcast. | Team Impact Crusade!
