Preschool Director, Angie Hamm
My name is Angie Hamm, I have a large family which includes two step children, 32 foster children, three grandchildren, a husband, a camper and a sailboat. I enjoy traveling, fishing, cooking, reading, and my true passion is teaching.
Prior to becoming the Director at Living Hope Preschool, I have an extensive educational life experience background. My life-long dream of becoming a teacher was realized after graduating at the top of my class from Indian Hills Community College and William Penn University. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education with endorsements in Elementary Education, Reading, Math, Social Sciences, and Language Arts. My teaching career began at Cardinal Elementary, specializing in teaching math and reading to kindergarten through sixth grades, with my next assignment as 5th grade classroom teacher. After taking the position as Director at Living Hope Preschool, I continued to work in the afternoons at Cardinal for a few more years.
I have been devoted to Christian teaching at Living Hope for 8 years. I truly love being able to teach about our Lord and Savior while training children to be successful academically. My training includes Iowa Quality Preschool Standards Certification, Reading Recovery, Belin-Blank Fellowship Program for Training in Talented and Gifted Education, and college tutor for 40 students in 13 subjects. I have been published and presented research at the Henry B. and Jocelyn Wallace National Research Symposium on Talent Development. My mission is to help children to begin their education spiritually, socially, behaviorally, emotionally, and academically while making learning fun.
